The Morning After . . .

. . . Christmas I spent a bit of the morning here . . .at my favorite store - Anthropology.  

Actually we went to two Anthropology stores . . . 

guess I couldn't get enough of just one and only bought 3 very necessary things.

The Best Christmas Pedicure and Manicure I've Ever Had

We took off for Portland, Oregon bright and early Christmas morning so that we could spend a few holiday days with our daughter and her family.  After a great meal, my two granddaughters invited me to  their "spa" for the personal treatment of a pedicure and manicure.  

Wasn't hard to not indulge  . . . 

After Miriam rolled up my pant legs, I was asked to sit down and put my feet into the little pink blow up tub filled with nice warm water. . .

 . . . two sets of sweet little hands proceeded to give me one of the best foot massages I've ever had.  It actually mesmerized me thinking of these two darlings rubbing my feet. Almost made me cry, it was so sweet . . .

After my foot massage, little hands rubbed some wonderful Anthropology hand cream on the feet and legs. Heavenly.

Next, they picked out a few nail colors for me and Miriam (she's 6) began the nail polish.

After my hands were . . .polished, the girls proceeded to my feet.

It was the best Christmas pedicure and manicure I've ever had!

Chef Gwen Interviews The Simple Farm Farmers

For awhile, I've followed Chef Gwen via twitter and periodically I lurk around her blog Pen and Fork.  Well, yesterday I received a message from her saying that she wanted to come and interview us and do a blog post about the farm. Seriously? How cool is that!

So, Gwen popped in around 4:30 on Tuesday and I am sure I talked her ear off as she followed me around.  You can read the scoop, news and nibbles here.  And, while you're reading all about us and more - do leave a nice comment for Gwen and snoop around her blog - it's amazing!

Keep Running The Race - Never Give Up

How often do we feel like giving up? Discouragement overtakes the reality that just a few more steps and . . . we can cross that finish line.  

Holland Reynolds began to feel week about one-half mile from the finish line. What she said should have been an easy race became difficult.  

I love this - Reynolds staggered, then collapsed just feet from the finish line.

A race official, immediately at her side, advised her that if she wanted to finish the race -- the finish line just mere feet in front of her -- she could crawl enough to get one foot over the line. But if she received assistance, she'd be disqualified and the points would not count toward her team's total.

Reynolds kept going. 

How many times do we give up? How many times do our husbands, friends, children give up and what is really needed is someone for you to be at their side - not to fix the situation (by carrying them, enabling them, removing the obstacle) - but to encourage them onward to finish the race and that the finish line isn't far away.

Never give up. Run for yourself. Run for your team.
