Cottage Glamour: I Bleached My Denim Couch and This is What Happened!

I am so inspired by the creative and inspiring blogger at Cottage Glamour - you see I also have a denim sofa that we paid way to much for and because I LOVe white - I think I could totally do this. What do you think?

Oh, you'll have to check out her 'before' and 'during' and 'after' pictures to see what I'm talking about.

Not to often I can walk on the beach with one of my daughters.
A year ago I did.

A Cheese Lover In France

Recently I found Lou Lou a blogger at Chez Lou Lou who lives in the south of France. Her blog is fun, cheery and interesting.  What especially caught my attention (besides all her wonderful photography) is her love of cheese and her journey to taste every cheese produced in France.

Since my husband, Michael, is our families gourmet cheese maker I'm always on the look out for other goat cheese makers and cheese lovers.

I Am Crazy About Shutters

One of the things I noticed while spending time in Basque Country (Spain and France) is that on the French side many many homes had the added touch of shutters. I love them.  Here's a few homes (somewhere in Provence - sorry, lost the link) that I felt drawn to - it might be the shutters.

I think shutters create such a feel that says, "Welcome. It's warm and cozy and delightful inside."  Are there shutters on your home? If so, what color?  My barn has some cute vintage shutters here.

A New French Vintage Find . . .

. . . out in bloggy land.  A sweet friend up in PDX sent me a link to Debbie's blog - My Shabby Roses.  The above picture is simply a teasing taste of the Frenchy, vintagy, beautiful things you'll find as you sip French press or tea perusing through the pages of her blog.

See that white bench? I need want am going to dream about having that. I know I'd have at least one spot for it.

A Rustic French Touch of Fall

What I love about the French farmhouse style of decorating is the creative use of things natural.  I've created this rustic fall look by saving the mammoth sunflower heads I grew this past spring.  This rustic look lends itself with the old world charm of our courtyard gates.
