Window Gardening

Since my gardening season is coming to an end and I'll be letting the soil rest, I decided to start some sweet potato slips inside.

To start sweet potatoes, simply find some good organic sweet potatoes, put a few tooth picks in the sides about 3/4 of the way up and then put them in a big jar full of filtered water. Keep the jar full and watch the root system develop.

When the slips turn into green leafy plants - you'll know it's time to situate them in your garden spot.

Did you know that sweet potatoes are very high in calcium? Quite important for us women.
